Canola Futures Slide Amid Soyoil Losses and Weather Optimism
Canola futures continued their downward slide on Friday as losses in Chicago soyoil and a lack of significant weather worries prompted speculators to liquidate long positions. The 2025-26 marketing year for canola came to an end with the decline, while soybean, corn, and wheat futures in the US also fell, with wheat experiencing the largest losses.
The trend was attributed to a lack of severe weather conditions that often impact crop yields, leading speculators to reassess their positions. This resulted in canola futures closing lower on Friday, marking the continuation of a downward slide.
