Capital Clean Energy Carriers Welcomes New LNG Carrier Alcaios I to Fleet

Capital Clean Energy Carriers (CCEC) has taken delivery of its latest liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, Alcaios I. The vessel, built by South Korean shipyard HD Hyundai Samho, has a capacity of 174,000 cubic metres and is the company's 15th LNG carrier to date.

The acquisition was funded through a combination of cash on hand and $170 million raised from refinancing two existing sale and leaseback facilities for CCEC's LNG carriers Aristos I and Aristarchos. The refinanced facilities have a 10-year term, with Alcaios I serving as additional mortgage security.

CCEC currently operates a fleet of 20 vessels, including 15 LNG carriers, two dual-fuel medium gas carriers, two handy liquefied CO2 multi-gas carriers, and one neo-Panamax containership. The company has six more LNG carriers under construction, with deliveries scheduled between the first quarter of 2027 and the first quarter of 2029.
