Capstone Copper, a Canadian miner listed on TSX and ASX, has reported record adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (Ebitda) of $354-million in Q2. The company's CEO, Cashel Meagher, attributes this success to strong operational performance at the Cozamin mine in Mexico and higher copper prices.

The Mantoverde operation in Chile achieved record sulphide production, while the Pinto Valley mine in Arizona experienced an impact from unplanned maintenance but is expected to improve after a planned shutdown in Q3. Despite this, Capstone delivered record adjusted net income attributable to shareholders of $97.6-million.

The company reaffirmed its full-year guidance of between 200,000 t and 230,000 t of copper production and has a pipeline of permitted growth projects that will drive the business forward. Meagher notes that with supportive copper markets, a resilient operating platform, and clear momentum across the portfolio, Capstone is well-positioned to create lasting value.
