The Canadian carbon capture sector is gaining momentum with major policy and commercial decisions being made ahead of Carbon Capture Canada 2026, taking place September 15-17 in Edmonton. The convention will bring together global leaders to shape the future of carbon capture, following the July 2 announcement of a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding between Canada, Alberta, and the Oil Sands Alliance on the Pathways project.

With over 5,000 attendees expected, the convention will showcase emerging technologies and foster collaboration, investment, and knowledge sharing across the CCUS value chain. The conference program features more than 150 speakers from government, industry, and academia, offering insights into policy, investment, and commercial realities shaping the sector's next chapter.

Key figures attending include Honourable Danielle Smith, Premier of Alberta; Frank Des Rosiers, Assistant Deputy Minister at Natural Resources Canada; and Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Special Advisor to the President for Energy in Indonesia. The convention will explore policy, investment, and commercial realities shaping the next generation of CCUS projects.
