Carney Touts Canadian Investment Opportunities at Toronto Summit
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is hosting an investment summit at Toronto's Four Seasons Hotel, where he will pitch to institutional investors opportunities worth tens of billions of dollars. The projects span various sectors, including data centers, advanced manufacturing, liquefied natural gas, and dozens of mines.
The 66-page document outlining the proposals includes a potential $10.5 billion data-center campus in Alberta, a fiber-optic line connecting Canada to Norway, and a quantum computer. A significant portion of the brochure is dedicated to minerals and mining projects, including synthetic graphite production and rare earths.
Carney's goal is to accelerate investment in the Canadian economy, targeting $1 trillion over five years, which includes government outlays on defense and infrastructure. The summit aims to provide large institutional investors with more exposure to and information about Canadian companies and projects that need capital.
