CB&I and AG&P Industrial Commission All-Steel LNG Tanks in the Philippines
CB&I and AG&P Industrial have marked a significant milestone in the Philippine LNG industry by commissioning two all-steel full-containment liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks at the LNGPH Ilijan LNG Facility.
The tanks, measuring 60,000 cubic meters each, were designed and constructed using 9% nickel steel for both the inner and outer containment vessels. This innovative technology is expected to meet established LNG industry safety and technical requirements while offering potential economic and construction advantages.
According to CB&I, the all-steel configuration can provide the safety and operational benefits associated with full-containment LNG storage while improving project economics and providing greater certainty around construction schedules.
