CBOT Markets Close with Declines in Corn, Soybeans, and Wheat
The Chicago Board of Trade closed its markets on Wednesday, September 2. The corn futures prices for December and March showed declines. December corn fell by one cent to $5.45 per bushel, while March corn dropped a half-cent to $5.59 per bushel.
Soybean futures also saw decreases, with November down six cents at $13.11 per bushel and January down six cents at $13.26 per bushel. Wheat futures prices followed suit, with December down seven cents at $7.75 per bushel and March down five cents at $7.92 per bushel.
Live cattle futures saw significant declines, with October down 172 cents at $210.35 per hundredweight and December down 127 cents at $212.10 per hundredweight. Feeder cattle futures also dropped, with September down 92 cents at $319.42 per hundredweight and October down 40 cents at $315.00 per hundredweight.
The Andersons at Kent Bridge reported a decline in the price of 2026 crop corn to half a cent lower at $6.90 per bushel, while the 2027 crop saw an increase of three cents to $6.55 per bushel. The same company reported a decrease in the price of 2026 crop soybeans by four cents to $17.23 per bushel and an increase of one cent to $16.12 per bushel for the 2027 crop.
Underwood Grain's prices also reflected the decline, with 2026 crop corn down a quarter of a cent at $6.85 per bushel and 2027 crop up three cents at $6.49 per bushel. The price of 2026 crop soybeans was down six cents to $17.16 per bushel, while the 2027 crop saw an increase of half a cent to $16.00 per bushel.
