CBT Trading Session Sees Mixed Results Across Commodity Markets
The Chicago Board of Trade (CBT) wrapped up its trading session for Wednesday, September 9th. Key price movements were observed across several commodity markets.
Corn futures took a hit, with December contracts dropping by 5 cents to $5.28 per bushel and March contracts down 5 cents at $5.44 per bushel. Soybean futures also declined, with November contracts slipping by 7 cents to $13.08 per bushel and January contracts down 7 cents at $13.24 per bushel.
The wheat market saw significant drops as well, with December contracts falling by 18 cents to $7.28 per bushel and March contracts down 17 cents at $7.44 per bushel. Live cattle futures were down, with October contracts decreasing by $150 to $215.52 per hundredweight and December contracts down $97 at $218.25 per hundredweight.
The Underwood Grain prices revealed mixed signals for wheat, as Soft White Winter Wheat saw a 13-cent increase to $8.77 per bushel in the current crop year but only a 10-cent bump to $9.14 per bushel for the upcoming crop year. In contrast, Soft Red Winter Wheat experienced a decline.
