CENTCOM Unleashes Retaliation Against Iran Over Alleged Missile Strike
On September 5, 2026, at 4:01 PM PDT, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) released a video showcasing its response to an attack by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The IRGC had allegedly fired ballistic missiles at two American ships.
CENTCOM claimed that it responded by targeting three Iranian oil tankers as part of 'a multibillion-dollar shadow network' that funds the IRGC and its regional proxies. CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper stated, 'Let the message to the IRGC be clear: If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost, taking out three of yours.'
The military's response involved permanently disabling two ships and completely destroying the third. CENTCOM alleges that the destroyed ship was part of a larger effort by the IRGC to support its regional proxies.
