The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) released its weekly Commitments of Traders report, covering positions as of September 8, 2026.

The data breaks down open interest and positioning across various categories for agricultural, energy, and metals contracts on major exchanges like the Chicago Board of Trade and New York Mercantile Exchange.

In soft red winter wheat, producer and merchant positions were heavily skewed to the short side, while swap dealers held a large number of long positions.

Corn saw significant short positions from producers and merchants, but managed money was predominantly long. Soybeans also showed a mixed picture, with non-reportable long positions outweighing short ones.
