Cheniere Clears Regulatory Hurdle for Final Corpus Christi LNG Train

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has given Cheniere Energy the green light to introduce natural gas into its seventh and final Corpus Christi LNG train, Train 7. This approval clears a major regulatory hurdle for the company's midscale expansion project at the site.

Cheniere is the second-largest LNG exporter in the world and the largest in the United States. The company has been pushing to complete its Stage 3 build-out at Corpus Christi, which will add over 10 million metric tons of LNG export capacity once it's fully operational.

The FERC approval is a required step before commissioning and commercial operations can begin. It signals that Train 7 has met federal technical and safety standards to move forward.
