Cheniere Energy Hits 5,000 LNG Cargoes and Expands Capacity
Cheniere Energy, Inc., the leading producer and exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the United States, has achieved two significant milestones. The company has completed the substantial completion of its Corpus Christi Liquefaction Stage 3 Project (CCL Stage 3), which expands Cheniere's LNG production capacity by over 20% to approximately 56 million tonnes per annum.
The second milestone is the production and export of the company's 5,000th cargo of liquefied natural gas. This achievement was reached in just 10 years since Cheniere's first LNG cargo in 2016. The Yari LNG carrier departed Sabine Pass on August 29th en route to Asia, marking this notable accomplishment.
'With the substantial completion of CCL Stage 3, Cheniere and Bechtel have again delivered a major LNG project safely, on budget and ahead of schedule,' said Jack Fusco, Cheniere's Chairman, President and CEO. 'Congratulations to the Cheniere and Bechtel teams on the outstanding delivery of this project.'
