Cheniere Expands Corpus Christi LNG Plant Output by Over 20%
Cheniere Energy Inc., a leading US liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporter, has completed its latest expansion at its Corpus Christi production plant in South Texas.
The finalization of Stage 3 expansion boosts Cheniere's output by more than 20% to approximately 56 million tons per year across its two facilities, the company said in a statement on Monday.
This project comes as a growing wave of LNG production capacity is coming online on the US Gulf Coast. With about one-fifth of the world's output effectively shuttered due to the war in the Middle East, American LNG has become a crucial backfill of supply to markets in Europe and Asia.
