Cheniere Hits 5,000th LNG Cargo Milestone in Texas Expansion
Cheniere Energy has reached a major milestone in its liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Texas. The company exported its 5,000th LNG cargo from its U.S. Gulf Coast operations, marking a decade of rapid growth in the global LNG market.
The Stage 3 project at its Corpus Christi Liquefaction facility was completed on August 28, 2026, by Bechtel Corporation, Cheniere's engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor. The project increased LNG production capacity at CCL by over 10 million tonnes per annum to more than 25 mtpa, raising the firm's overall production capacity by over 20% to approximately 56 mtpa.
Cheniere Chairman, President and CEO Jack Fusco commented on the achievement: 'With the substantial completion of CCL Stage 3, Cheniere and Bechtel have again delivered a major LNG project safely, on budget and ahead of schedule... This accomplishment was made possible by the hard work, dedication and commitment of our workforce.'
