Cheniere Marks Decade of US LNG Exports with 5,000 Cargoes Shipped
Cheniere Energy has marked a significant milestone in the US LNG export industry. The company has shipped nearly 5,000 cargoes since its first export from the Sabine Pass terminal in Louisiana back in 2016.
The exports have totaled over 330 million tonnes of LNG, accounting for more than 55% of total U.S. LNG exports and approximately 9% of global LNG exports during that period.
Cheniere's Chairman, President, and CEO Jack Fusco praised the achievement, saying 'This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the export of our first LNG cargo... This milestone, made possible by the hardworking men and women at Cheniere, marked the beginning of a new era for Cheniere and global energy markets.'
The company's exports have also had a significant impact on European markets, accounting for approximately 25% of Europe's LNG imports.
