Chennai Gold Price Drops by Rs 1,440 on August 14

The price of gold in Chennai decreased by Rs 1,440 per sovereign on August 14, 2026. This marks a decrease from the previous day's price of Rs 113,760 per sovereign.

The current price of 22-carat gold is now at Rs 112,320 per sovereign and Rs 14,040 per gram.

Silver prices also decreased by Rs 5 to sell for Rs 255 per gram (Rs 2,55,000 per kg) on August 14.

In comparison to last year's price of Rs 74,320 per sovereign on August 14, 2025, the current gold price has increased significantly by Rs 38,000 or about 51.13%.
