Chennai Gold Price Drops by Rs 400 Per Sovereign on August 12
The price of gold in Chennai decreased by Rs 400 per sovereign on August 12, 2026. The current price is Rs 1,13,600 per sovereign and Rs 14,200 per gram.
This decrease comes after a previous drop of Rs 50 per gram from the previous day's price. However, silver prices remain unchanged at Rs 260 per gram.
In comparison to last year, gold prices have increased significantly, rising by Rs 39,240 or about 52.77% since August 12, 2025, when it was priced at Rs 74,360 per sovereign.
