Chennai Gold Price Drops by Rs 480 on September 7

The price of gold in Chennai decreased by Rs 480 per sovereign on September 7, 2026. The current price is now Rs 1,13,040 per sovereign and Rs 14,130 per gram.

This decrease comes after a drop of Rs 60 per gram from the previous day's rate. On September 5, gold was priced at Rs 1,13,520 per sovereign and Rs 14,190 per gram.

Silver prices remained unchanged at Rs 255 per gram (Rs 2,55,000 per kg) on September 7. In comparison to last year's price of Rs 80,040 per sovereign (Rs 10,005 per gram), gold has increased significantly by Rs 33,000 per sovereign or about 41.22 per cent.
