Chennai Gold Price Drops Rs 560 on August 27
The price of gold in Chennai has decreased by Rs 560 per sovereign on August 27, 2026. The current price is now at Rs 1,19,520 per sovereign and Rs 14,940 per gram.
This decrease comes after a decline of Rs 70 per gram from the previous day's rate. In contrast, silver prices have remained unchanged, selling for Rs 265 per gram (Rs 2,65,000 per kg) on August 27.
A comparison with last year's price shows that gold has increased significantly. On August 27, 2025, the price of gold was Rs 75,120 per sovereign (Rs 9,390 per gram), which is a rise of about 59.10 percent to its current rate.
