Chennai Gold Price Hits New High on August 3
The price of gold in Chennai has increased by Rs 240 per sovereign on August 3, reaching Rs 1,06,000 per sovereign and Rs 13,250 per gram. This rise comes after an increase of Rs 30 per gram. On the other hand, silver prices have remained unchanged at Rs 235 per gram.
Comparing the current gold price to last year's on August 2, we see a significant surge of about 42.6%. The price has risen from Rs 74,320 per sovereign (Rs 9,290 per gram) in 2025 to Rs 1,06,000 per sovereign (Rs 13,250 per gram) in 2026.
Looking at the gold prices over the last five days, we see a slight fluctuation. On August 1, the price was Rs 1,05,760 per sovereign and Rs 13,220 per gram. Prior to that, the prices were Rs 1,06,040 on July 31, Rs 1,05,840 on July 30, Rs 1,05,240 on July 29, and Rs 1,05,720 on July 28.
