Chennai Gold Price Surges by Rs 160 on August 17
The price of gold in Chennai has increased by Rs 160 per sovereign on August 17, 2026.
The current price of 22-carat gold is now at Rs 1,14,160 per sovereign and Rs 14,270 per gram.
This represents an increase of Rs 50 per gram from the previous day's prices.
However, silver prices remain unchanged, selling for Rs 255 per gram (Rs 2,55,000 per kg) on August 17.
It is worth noting that gold prices have significantly increased compared to last year, with a rise of Rs 39,960 or about 53.85% since August 16, 2025.
