Chennai Gold Price Surges by Rs 2,160 Per Sovereign on August 6

The price of gold in Chennai increased by Rs 2,160 per sovereign on August 6. This brings the current price to Rs 1,10,000 per sovereign and Rs 13,750 per gram.

Compared to last year, gold prices have surged significantly. On August 6, 2025, gold was priced at Rs 75,040 per sovereign (Rs 9,380 per gram), but on August 6, 2026, it has reached Rs 1,10,000 per sovereign (Rs 13,750 per gram), marking an increase of Rs 34,960 or about 46.58%.

The price of silver also increased by Rs 10 to sell for Rs 250 per gram (Rs 2,50,000 per kg) on August 6.
