Chennai Gold Price Surges by Rs 2,400 Per Sovereign
The gold price in Chennai has increased by Rs 2,400 per sovereign on August 11, 2026. This brings the current price of 22-carat gold to Rs 1,14,000 per sovereign and Rs 14,250 per gram.
This is a significant increase from the previous day's price, which stood at Rs 1,11,600 per sovereign and Rs 13,950 per gram. The silver price has also seen an increase of Rs 10 per gram, with prices now selling for Rs 260 per gram or Rs 2,60,000 per kg.
When compared to last year's price on August 11, 2025, the gold price has increased by a substantial 52% from Rs 75,000 per sovereign to Rs 1,14,000 per sovereign.
