Chennai Gold Price Surges Rs 1,280 per Sovereign on August 5
Chennai's gold prices saw an increase of Rs 1,280 per sovereign on August 5, 2026. According to the latest data, the price of gold in Chennai now stands at Rs 1,06,880 per sovereign and Rs 13,260 per gram.
This rise is a result of an increase of Rs 160 per gram compared to the previous day's rate. The yellow metal was priced at Rs 105,600 per sovereign and Rs 13,200 per gram on August 4, 2026.
The silver prices also saw a slight increase, with a price hike of Rs 5. Silver is now selling for Rs 240 per gram (Rs 2,40,000 per kg) in Chennai.
