Gold prices in Chennai were largely flat on July 28 after Monday's strong gains. The 24K gold rate edged up ₹1 to ₹14,587 per gram, while 22K and 18K gold rates moved to ₹13,371 and ₹11,186 respectively.

The slight increase comes after a sharp correction on July 24, when 24K gold dropped ₹295 in a single session. Since then, prices have gradually recovered, with Tuesday's near-flat move suggesting the rebound has slowed down for now.

Despite the muted session, gold remains above levels seen earlier in the month. The 24K rate is still ₹141 below the recent high of ₹14,728 recorded on July 23.
