Chennai Gold Prices Plummet: 22K Gold Falls ₹85 on August 19
Chennai's gold market saw a decline on August 19, 2026, as per the latest rates from the Madras Jewellers & Diamond Traders Association (MJDTA). The 22-carat gold rate dropped by ₹85 per gram and is now priced at ₹14,205 per gram. This decrease comes after yesterday's rate of ₹14,290 per gram.
The 18-carat gold rate also fell by ₹85 per gram, reaching ₹11,985 per gram compared to the previous rate of ₹12,070 per gram.
Meanwhile, the silver rate in Chennai declined by ₹5 per gram and is currently priced at ₹250 per gram. This drop marks a change from the previous rate.
