Chennai Gold Prices Soar ₹270 Per Gram on August 6

Gold prices in Chennai continued their upward trend on August 6, 2026. The Madras Jewellers & Diamond Traders Association (MJDTA) released morning rates showing that both 22-carat and 18-carat gold prices rose by ₹270 per gram.

The 22K gold rate increased from ₹13,480 to ₹13,750 per gram, while the 18K gold price climbed from ₹11,295 to ₹11,565 per gram. Silver rates in Chennai also rose, increasing from ₹240 to ₹250 per gram.

According to experts, the global bullion market trends and fluctuations in the US dollar exchange rate are influencing gold prices in Chennai. Additionally, sustained domestic demand for precious metals is contributing to the continued rise in gold prices.
