Chennai Gold Prices Soar by ₹160 Per Gram on August 5

Gold prices in Chennai rose sharply on August 5, 2026, as per the latest morning rates from the Madras Jewellers & Diamond Traders Association (MJDTA). Both 22-carat and 18-carat gold prices increased by ₹160 per gram. The 22K gold rate climbed from ₹13,200 to ₹13,360 per gram.

The silver price in Chennai also saw an increase of ₹5 per gram, rising from ₹235 to ₹240 per gram. The rise in gold and silver prices reflects a positive sentiment in the global precious metals market and changing domestic demand.
