Chennai Gold Prices Surge as 22K and 18K Rates Climb
Gold prices in Chennai increased on Monday, August 24, 2026, according to the Madras Jewellers & Diamond Traders Association (MJDTA). The 22-carat gold rate rose by ₹80 per gram, reaching ₹15,030 per gram. This is a ₹80 increase from the previous day's price of ₹14,950 per gram.
The 18-carat gold rate also saw an increase, rising by ₹70 per gram to ₹12,800 per gram. In contrast, silver prices increased by ₹5 per gram, reaching ₹275 per gram.
Jewellery buyers are advised to check the latest Chennai gold rates with jewellers before making a purchase, as the final price of jewellery may also include making charges, GST and other applicable costs.
