Chennai Gold Prices Surge on August 3
Chennai's gold market saw an increase in prices on August 3, 2026. According to the Madras Jewellers & Diamond Traders Association (MJDTA), the 22-carat and 18-carat gold prices rose by ₹30 per gram each.
The 22K gold rate increased from ₹13,220 to ₹13,250 per gram, while the 18K gold price climbed from ₹11,035 to ₹11,065 per gram. In contrast, the silver rate remained unchanged at ₹235 per gram.
The gold prices in Chennai are influenced by various domestic and international market factors, including global bullion market trends, US dollar exchange rate movements, inflation and interest rate expectations, central bank monetary policies, geopolitical developments, and demand from jewellery buyers and investors.
