Chevron has announced a deal to increase oil production in Venezuela, more than doubling current levels to approximately 600,000 barrels per day.

The agreement comes after Chevron CEO Mike Wirth stated that improved terms and additional acreage would strengthen the company's portfolio and provide low-cost oil growth.

This development follows a push from former President Trump for oil companies to operate in Venezuela.
