Chevron Expands Presence in Angola with Key Discoveries
Chevron's presence in Angola has been strengthened by several recent developments. The company has operated in the country for over 70 years, and its portfolio is centered on Block 0, deepwater assets, and natural gas infrastructure.
The discovery of an oil and gas condensate column exceeding 2,000 feet at the 105-4X exploration well in Block 0 is a significant milestone. Chevron plans to assess this discovery for potential tie-back to nearby existing facilities, which could be a capital-efficient route to production.
This development follows another recent milestone: the South N'dola Platform delivered first oil in December 2025. Chevron operates Block 0 with a 39.2% working interest and also holds a significant stake in Angola LNG, which has capacity to process 1.1 billion cubic feet of gas per day.
