Chicago Board of Trade Reports Thursday's Commodity Price Changes
The Chicago Board of Trade reported various changes in commodity futures prices on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Corn futures saw September's price up by 4 cents at $4.77 and December's price also up by 4 cents at $5.02. Meanwhile, soybean futures declined with November down by 1 cent at $12.36 and January down by half a cent at $12.50.
Wheat futures saw an increase in prices as well, with September up by 2 cents at $6.82 and December also up by 2 cents at $6.99. Live cattle futures rose significantly, with October up by $82 at $218.05 and December up by $100 at $218.15.
Feeder cattle futures saw a mixed picture, with September down by 12 cents at $329.00 and October up by 77 cents at $322.82. The Wanstead Farmers Co-operative reported changes in crop prices for corn, soybeans, and wheat. Corn prices were up 5 cents at $6.44 per bushel for the 2026 crop and 1 cent up at $6.28 per bushel for the 2027 crop.
Soybean prices saw a decline with the 2026 crop down by half a cent at $16.17 per bushel, but an increase for the 2027 crop with prices up by half a cent at $15.24 per bushel. Soft white winter wheat and soft red winter wheat prices were also reported, both increasing in value.
Great Lakes Grain in Mitchell provided similar reports on crop prices, showing slight variations from Wanstead Farmers Co-operative's numbers. Ontario Pork Reports shared the U-S CME price for dressed weight pork at $93.85 per hundredweight, down by 23 cents from the previous day. The 100% formula price was also reported at $234.92 per hundred kilograms.
