Chicago Board of Trade Sees Turbulent Moves in Corn and Soybean Futures
The Chicago Board of Trade saw significant movements in corn and soybean futures on Tuesday, August 18, according to Windsor News Today. Corn Futures for September were down 2 at $4.63, while December was down 1 at $4.87. Soybean Futures for November were down a half at $12.15, and January was down a half at $12.30.
The Wheat Futures also experienced declines, with September down 14 at $6.60 and December down 12 at $6.77. In contrast, Live Cattle Futures saw an increase, with October up 37 at $219.15 and December up 115 at $219.55. Feeder Cattle Futures also rose, with September up 87 at $333.82 and October up 142 at $326.77.
Agris at Thamesville reported that 2026 Crop Corn was down 1 at $6.28/BU, while 2027 Crop Corn was up 1 at $6.12/BU. The company's 2026 Crop Soybeans were up a half at $15.91/BU, and 2027 Crop Soybeans were up 6 at $15.16/BU.
Hensall District Co-op also released figures, showing that 2026 Crop Corn was down 1 at $6.28/BU and 2027 Crop Corn was up 1 at $6.13/BU. The company's 2026 Crop Soybeans were up a half at $15.87/BU, and 2027 Crop Soybeans were up 6 at $15.16/BU.
Ontario Pork Reports indicated that the U-S CME price was down $0.13 from the previous day at $95.41 U-S per hundredweight, dressed weight. The 100% formula price was also down, at $239.55 per hundred kilograms, dressed weight.
