Chicago Board of Trade Sees Volatile Commodity Futures Trading
The Chicago Board of Trade saw significant movements in commodity futures on Tuesday, September 15. Corn futures for December and March both rose by $2 to $5.35 and $5.50, respectively. Soybean futures for November and January increased by $15 each to $13.19 and $13.35.
On the other hand, wheat futures saw a decrease. December and March wheat futures fell by $5 and $4, respectively, to $7.27 and $7.43. Live cattle futures also declined, with October and December down by $162 and $195 to $220.62 and $223.20.
Feeder cattle futures followed suit, dropping by $417 and $400 for October and November to $333.67 and $328.77, respectively. In the agricultural sector, 2026 crop corn prices were up at various locations, with Thamesville reporting a rise of $2 to $6.80/BU and Hensall District Co-op also seeing an increase to $6.81/BU.
