Chicago Commodities See Mixed Price Movements
The Chicago Board of Trade saw significant price movements for various commodities on Wednesday, August 12. Corn futures experienced an increase of $0.20 to reach $4.57 in September and $4.81 in December. Soybean futures also rose by $0.14 to $11.65 in September and $11.83 in November.
Wheat futures saw a more substantial jump, with September up 22 cents at $6.53 and December up 21 cents at $6.69. Live cattle futures declined, with October down $2.45 at $223.87 and December down $2.82 at $222.87.
The Andersons at Kent Bridge reported the following prices for 2026 and 2027 crops: corn was up 20 cents at $6.21/BU and $6.08/BU respectively, while soybeans were up 14 cents at $15.48/BU and $14.94/BU. Soft White Winter Wheat was down 2 cents at $8.19/BU for 2026 but up 5 cents at $8.66/BU for 2027.
Underwood Grain also reported prices, with corn up 20 cents at $6.20/BU and $6.08/BU respectively, and soybeans up 14 cents at $15.48/BU and $15.03/BU. Soft White Winter Wheat was down 10 cents at $7.55/BU for 2026 but down 9 cents at $8.00/BU for 2027.
Ontario Pork reported the U-S CME price to be $95.84 per hundredweight, dressed weight, which is a decrease of $0.21 from the previous day. The 100% formula price was also down at $241.70 per hundred kilograms, dressed weight, a decline of $0.81.
