Chicago Markets Plunge on July 27: Corn, Soybean Futures Fall
The Chicago Board of Trade saw significant declines in corn and soybean futures on Monday, July 27. Corn futures for September fell by 13 cents to $4.51 per bushel, while December's price dropped by 14 cents to $4.73 per bushel. Soybean futures also experienced a sharp decline, with September down 42 cents at $11.97 and November falling by the same amount at $12.11.
Wheat futures saw a more modest decrease, with September dropping 20 cents to $6.58 and December losing 19 cents at $6.76 per bushel. The live cattle market also took a hit, with October's price down $420 at $218.30 and December falling by $537 at $216.90.
Reports from Ontario Pork showed the U-S CME price increasing to $97.67 per hundredweight, dressed weight, up $0.49 from the previous day. The 100% formula price rose to $250.54 per hundred kilograms, also dressed weight, a gain of $1.53.
