China Crude Imports Rebound on Delayed Shipments and Russian Oil
China's crude oil imports are expected to rebound in July, reaching an estimated 7.8 million barrels per day. This marks a significant increase from June's decade-low of 6.2 million barrels per day.
The recovery is attributed to the arrival of delayed oil shipments and a rise in Russian oil imports, which have increased by about 10% in recent periods. According to data from Kpler, Saudi Arabian crude flows have more than doubled, while imports from the United Arab Emirates have seen a significant increase.
However, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East remain a concern for regional supply lines. Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and threats to shipping routes in the Red Sea pose ongoing logistical challenges, particularly for Saudi crude.
