China Maltodextrin Prices See 1.54% Rise as Exporters Boost Output

China's maltodextrin market saw a shift to a mildly bullish tone in July 2026, with prices rising 1.54% for the month.

The change was largely driven by exporters and processors completing seasonal allocations, while producers pushed firmer offers due to higher corn starch feedstock costs.

Coastal plants increased production to meet export commitments, but environmental inspections at smaller starch units reduced prompt spot availability.

Demand was uneven across sectors, with Asian food and beverage buyers in Japan, Indonesia, and South Korea remaining firm ahead of autumn and year-end launches. Confectionery, ready-to-drink beverages, and sports nutrition formulations also added support to maltodextrin consumption.
