The Chinese scrap metal market showed mixed results on July 29, 2026. Gains in aluminum prices helped offset weakness in copper and stainless steel.

Copper prices were mostly lower, with key grades dropping by as much as CNY 200 per metric ton. This decrease affected #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing.

However, aluminum scrap prices moved higher across multiple grades. The increase was observed in 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Ingots, E.C Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, and Old Sheet, each rising by CNY 50 per metric ton.
