China's power battery installations reached 410.2 GWh in the first seven months of 2026, up 15.4% year on year, driving continued demand across the battery materials supply chain.

Rising demand for vehicles and batteries is increasing focus on copper foil, a key battery component that affects cost, performance, and supply stability.

Hailiang New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. in Gansu Province has established itself as a major player in the battery supply chain by producing high-quality copper foil.

The company's Lanzhou plant has an annual capacity of over 100,000 tons and consumes more than 1 billion kWh of electricity per year, making stable power supply critical to large-scale production.

Hailiang entered the copper foil market in 2021, when the industry was expanding rapidly while demand growth slowed, resulting in oversupply and lower processing fees.
