China's Conductor Wire and Cable Industry Sees Rapid Growth Amid Challenges
As China embarks on its '15th Five-Year Plan' in 2026, the conductor wire and cable industry is undergoing significant transformation. The sector is driven by the dual-carbon strategy, new power systems, energy transition, and AI technology empowerment.
Rapid growth has been observed in areas such as ultra-high voltage, new energy, computing power centers, and NEVs, boosting demand for high-end copper and aluminum conductors and wire and cable materials.
However, the industry faces challenges including tight supply of raw materials, fluctuating prices, geopolitical trade fluctuations, and increased competition. To address these issues, Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) will host the 2026 SMM (11th) Conductor Wire and Cable Industry Exhibition and Electrical Materials Industry Annual Conference on November 5-6, 2026.
The event aims to bring together industry resources from across the supply chain to create a professional platform for cooperation and exchange. Wuxi Chenfeng Yongliang Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. will be co-hosting the conference with SMM.
