China's Corn Imports Skyrocket by 527.3% in July
China's imports of corn and corn flour surged in July, with data from the General Administration of Customs showing a year-on-year increase of 527.3%.
The total import volume for July was 350,000 tonnes, while cumulative imports for the first seven months reached 1.36 million tonnes, up 61.3% compared to the same period in the previous year.
This significant rise in corn imports puts downward pressure on both spot and futures prices for corn, making it a bearish factor.
