China's Heihe-Daqing Pipeline Project Boosts Natural Gas Supply Capacity

The Heihe-Daqing Natural Gas Pipeline Project has officially begun construction in Heilongjiang, China. This key project is part of the national oil and natural gas development '15th Five-Year Plan'. Upon completion, it will establish a dual-channel pattern for north-to-south gas transmission, increasing overall annual gas transmission capacity by 10 billion cubic meters.

The pipeline connects to the Heihe border-crossing gas source and extends southward to the oil and gas hub in the Daqing region. This parallel operation of two pipelines will form a dual-channel security system, significantly improving redundancy and reducing the risk of supply disruption caused by single-line failures.

The added capacity will amplify transmission efficiency for imported Russian gas. It will strengthen natural gas supply in Heilongjiang and the Northeast region during winter, while also allowing northern gas sources to be transported outward to multiple provinces and cities inside the Pass.
