China's nonferrous metals sector has seen a significant surge in recent days, with several stocks hitting limit-up. The immediate catalyst was a batch of strong interim results released on August 25, showing that 20 out of 22 nonferrous index constituents posted positive net profit growth.

Baiyin Nonferrous led the charge, sealing its third limit-up in four trading sessions with over 1.2 billion yuan (approximately $182.8 million) in sealed orders. Jiangxi Copper also locked in a limit-up, with nearly 225,000 lots in sealed orders worth approximately 1.09 billion yuan ($162.9 million).

The broader copper sub-sector moved almost in unison, with Western Mining rising over 8% and Yunnan Copper and Hunan Silver gaining more than 6%. The confluence of earnings delivery, rising prices, and tight supply is driving the sector's strength.
