China's Scrap Metal Market Sees Mixed Trends on August 21
The scrap metal market in China experienced mixed trends on August 21, 2026, according to the latest daily price report from ScrapMonster. Copper grades saw significant gains, with #1 Copper Bare Bright rising by CNY 300 per metric ton compared to the previous day. Other copper grades, including #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #1 Insulated Copper Wire (85% recovery), also increased in price.
Brass and bronze scrap prices moved higher as well, with Red Brass and Yellow Brass each gaining CNY 50 per metric ton. In contrast, aluminum prices declined across the board, with grades such as 6063 Aluminum Extrusions, Aluminum Ingot, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast Aluminum, and Old Sheet Aluminum falling by CNY 100 per metric ton.
