Chord Energy Surpasses Guidance in Q2 2026 Results, Boosts Return on Capital Target
Chord Energy Corporation (CHRD) reported its Q2 2026 financial and operational results, exceeding expectations in several areas. The company's oil production reached 165.4 thousand barrels per day, at the high end of guidance due to strong operational performance.
The company also saw a significant increase in adjusted free cash flow, reaching $414.1 million. This enabled Chord Energy to boost its return on capital target, aiming for at least 75% of adjusted free cash flow starting from Q3 2026.
Chord's leverage ratio decreased below 0.5 turn at quarter end, which triggered the increase in return of capital target. The company also executed 26 extended lateral wells as part of its 4-mile lateral program and implemented the Williston Basin's first trimulfrac completion.
