Cipher Digital Builds Lateral Pipelines for Up to 2.5 GW Natural Gas-Fueled Generation
Cipher Digital Inc., a leading developer and operator of industrial-scale data centers, has initiated a project to develop lateral pipelines across multiple sites. These pipelines will connect the company's facilities to nearby natural gas resources, enabling on-site electricity generation of up to 2.5 gigawatts (GW) for its high-performance computing (HPC) data centers.
The development of these lateral pipelines aims to enhance Cipher's operational capacity and address the growing demand for industrial-scale data center services. By connecting to nearby natural gas supplies, the company plans to improve power availability and grid stability in collaboration with local power providers.
Cipher Digital's CEO, Tyler Page, emphasizes the crucial role of secure power delivery in expanding the company's leasing portfolio for HPC data centers by making significant new power capacities rapidly accessible before the end of 2027.
