CME Gold Futures Trading Launch Sees Strong Interest
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) launched its 24/7 gold futures trading platform over the weekend, and it drew significant interest from traders. According to Peter Spina, CEO at GoldSeek.com, nearly 15,000 one-ounce gold futures contracts were traded during the inaugural weekend.
This totals about $60 million in notional value, a substantial figure that reflects the market's enthusiasm for the new platform.
