CNG Price Hike Linked to Iran-US Tensions: BJP Spokesperson Predicts Prices Will Fall
The recent hike in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices by Rs 3.89 per kg in Delhi-NCR has sparked concerns among commuters. BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain attributed the price increase to the ongoing geopolitical tensions between Iran and the US, which have resulted in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Hussain stated that the global situation affects markets worldwide, including India, due to its reliance on imports. The shortage of CNG creates difficulties, leading to a slight rise in prices.
However, Hussain predicted that once the situation normalises, prices will come down. This comes as Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) announced a calibrated price revision of Rs 3.89 per kg for CNG in Delhi, effective from 6:00 AM on August 29.
